Andrew - Emotional Health & Wellbeing Worker
Andrew is the Emotional Health & Wellbeing worker for young people aged 11-18 living in Central Swansea. Based within the Central Early Help hub hub located at Townhill Youth Centre.
About
The Early help hub Emotional Health & Wellbeing workers are here to help create a safe informal environment for young people to explore their emotional health and wellbeing. The service aims to be welcoming and non-judgemental in its approach to breaking down barriers to accessing further support. Taking a person centred approach they can offer one to one confidential information, support and advice focusing on what matters for the young person. We will support them by developing a bespoke pathway helping into the right services for them at the same time as supporting them to develop their own self-care skills.
They will look at:
What is going on for the young person?
What matters to the young person?
What do they need?
What is stopping them getting this?
Who can help them?
How can they help themselves?
What is on offer?
One to one support on what matters to the young person
Peer support groups and activities based on the young person’s needs not a label attached to them.
Workshops for Schools and other key partners
This is available through a programme of drop-ins and events and set appointments.
Who is this appropriate for?
This support is suitable for any young person aged 11-18. The Emotional Health and Wellbeing worker will provide targeted interventions based on the needs of the young person bringing in further appropriate support service’s where the young person is ready for this. They can also provide support for young people that have been stepped down from other services to help them develop their own emotional toolkit and coping mechanisms.
